Photography has been the focus of my life for the last 8 years and I'm amazed how fluid and adaptable I am in social situations with a camera in my hands. For me half the work is being quietly observant and the other half is being attentive to the light. The camera is an amazing tool and I'm thrilled to continue learning and sharing the process with other photographers. I often took photos on family trips and vacations, but it wasn't until I moved to Todos Santos that I started to work with digital. I used photography to document my event and wedding work and to promote the business, but it wasn't until I filled-in as second photographer that I felt the adrenalin rush of documenting a wedding. Since then I've been immersed in all aspects of photography and the Better Photo classes are just what I need to keep me motivated.
Photography crosses over into all areas of my life and there's something mysterious that occurs when I focus my attention through the viewfinder . . . with one eye shut--looking within, and one eye wide open, gazing about--I connect my inner and outer worlds . . . .
